The on-site training provides a comprehensive exploration of the theoretical foundations and practical considerations underlying ferrite circulators. It begins with an in-depth discussion of the magnetic properties that govern their behavior, followed by an analysis of key performance characteristics and their implications for radio-frequency (RF) design. The session also addresses common design methodologies, highlights typical engineering challenges, and includes a representative simulation example to illustrate core concepts in practice.

As part of the training, participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on work using ANSYS HFSS, enabling them to gain practical experience with the simulation of circulator structures and to better understand the associated modeling processes. In addition, the training covers measurement setups and discusses expected results, offering valuable insight into how theoretical predictions align with experimental outcomes. This integrated approach ensures a well-rounded understanding of both the design and validation of ferrite circulators.

Prerequisites

Knowledge on RF engineering, simulation software.

This course is aimed at PhD students, Researchers / Engineers, and Industry Participants. 

Forecast programme

The core topic of the training is ferrite circulators with following key training modules:

  • Theoretical foundations of the ferrite circulators
  • HFSS simulation examples exploration
  • Hands-on experience on the demo measurement

 

Registration & Practical Information

Training duration: one day training. Detailed agenda will be shared prior to the training.

Application guidelines for Training:

  1. Submit an expression of interest via this form by 4th September
  2. Please note that submitting an Expression of Interest does not constitute confirmation of attendance or guarantee a place in the training. Demand may exceed the number of places available, and while every Expression of Interest will be considered, places will be allocated subject to availability.
  3. Places will be allocated during the week commencing 14th September 2026

 

The registration fee covers the following:

  • Access to the training session
  • Lunch and coffee breaks

 

Note: Travel and accommodation expenses are not covered by the registration fee and remain at the responsibility of the participants if a place is allocated.
