The FAMES Pilot Line proudly held its Annual Event 2025 during EFECS 2025, one of Europe’s key gatherings for the electronic components and systems community. This year’s conference brought together more than 700 participants from across Europe and beyond, providing a dynamic platform for collaboration, innovation, and strategic dialogue.
While EFECS is the overarching international conference, the FAMES Workshop constituted the official Annual Event of the FAMES project within this broader framework.
As part of the conference programme, FAMES organized a dedicated workshop session that gathered over 50 participants from more than 10 countries, reflecting the strong European dimension and growing impact of the Pilot Line.
The workshop opened with an address by Dominique Noguet, FAMES Project Coordinator, who provided a comprehensive overview of the Pilot Line’s strategic objectives, infrastructure, and progress.
Technical partners then presented key achievements from 2025, highlighting advances in:
Beyond technological developments, the session also emphasized FAMES’ commitment to skills and ecosystem development. Updates were shared on the progress of the FAMES Academy, including new training modules and upcoming learning opportunities designed to strengthen Europe’s semiconductor expertise pipeline.
A dedicated presentation introduced the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology developed within FAMES, underscoring the project’s proactive approach to more sustainable semiconductor technologies and responsible innovation.
The workshop concluded with insights into how FAMES technologies and platforms are being opened to both academia and industry, reaffirming the Pilot Line’s strong commitment to accessibility, collaboration, and European technological sovereignty.
In addition to the workshop, FAMES actively contributed to the exhibition space at EFECS 2025. The consortium hosted a booth alongside other European Pilot Lines, creating a vibrant meeting point for stakeholders across research, industry, and policy.
As this workshop marked the project’s official Annual Event, the FAMES booth served as an interactive hub to:
The strong attendance, high-quality exchanges, and numerous expressions of interest made this Annual Event a particularly rewarding milestone for the consortium.
We look forward to welcoming you to the next FAMES Annual Event, which will take place during EFECS 2026!
